Skills cap at 100 skill points
Every level other than level 1, you gain skill points depending on the rules of the Class you have the most ranks in.
Skill Bonuses
Skill bonuses start at -5
Then gain the mod from the associated Attribute (can be negative)
Lastly add 1 for every 10 points in the skill
Skill bonuses cap at -10 and +40.
Skill CT
Each skill has its own CT.
The base CT for all of your skills is equal to your Fortune CT.
No CT can go below 16.
Helping
If a character is rolling to use a skill such as crafting, alchemy, etc. one other character can offer to help them. When this happens, the original character gains one half of the helper’s roll bonus for the skill, rounded down. If the helper’s roll bonus is negative, the original character gains +1 to their roll.
Devotion
“Devotion” is a skill that most characters have access to that essentially signifies a character’s devotion to the Ancient they follow. Devotion may be increased through having/taking ranks in certain classes, or by spending skill points into it while leveling up.
Devotion functions differently to every other skill in Legends of Tarrem in a number of ways:
Devotion is not determined or affected by any of a character’s Attributes.
Devotion does not have or require a proficiency.
Instead of capping at 100 like all other skills (without perks), Devotion can be increased to a maximum of 300 points.
By default, a character’s Devotion starts at 0 (assuming they are starting at level 1 at character creation). Certain classes may start with extra Devotion.
Devotion’s skill bonus starts at +0 by default, but increases by +1 for every 20 points put into Devotion.
Characters that have taken the Faithless - Attributes or Faithless - Traits traits during character creation have their Devotion skill set to 0, and may not increase it by any means unless the trait is lost.
At certain thresholds of Devotion, depending on which Ancient the character follows, the character will unlock certain benefits granted by their patron. The bonuses and thresholds are different for each Ancient, so be sure to check!
